February 3, 2007 Tucson, Arizona - The AGTA Spectrum Awards™, considered the most respected and prestigious creative award for the jewelry design industry, has been honoring artistic excellence for over two decades. This evening, Zoltan David received his fifth Spectrum Award, 1st place in the Classical Division. His spectacular winning entry consisted of a 20.85 ct. Spessartite surrounded by 320 Tsavorites. Entries in the AGTA Spectrum Awards were judged on the basis of overall beauty and wearability, innovative design, effective use of materials, quality of gemstones, quality of workmanship, broad-base consumer appeal and potential to generate positive publicity for natural colored gemstones. Spectrum Award categories included Bridal, Business/Day, Classical, Evening and Men's Wear.
The Classical
jewelry category was new for the 2007 Spectrum Awards, focusing on
the “traditional,” emphasizing time-honored techniques and
long-established design. The essence of this new category was The AGTA reports that this year’s Awards competition attracted more than 500 entries throughout North America, a record-breaking number. For
